In August 2026, members of the Montgomery County Police Crisis Response and School Resources Division toured the Sandy Spring Slave Museum. The MCPF was excited to participate in this year’s Take Your Child to Work Day with the Montgomery County Police Department, helping provide a fun and memorable experience for families. We are appreciative of the opportunity and valued the chance to reinforce our mission to support the men and women in blue. We thank MCPD for hosting such a meaningful event - opportunities like this spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of public safety professionals!

For the second year, the MCPF proudly sponsored the Iron Dog 2026 competition, hosted by USPCA Region 3 and Montgomery County Police, and benefitting Spike’s K9 Fund. This charity event is designed exclusively for Police and Military K9 units, featuring an obstacle course that challenges both handlers and their dogs. The event raises essential support for K9 teams across the country, helping provide working dogs with ballistic vests, medical assistance, and specialized training.
